How does a dredger work?

Dredgers are responsible for dredging silt from waterways and rivers so that other ships can pass smoothly. It is also a weapon for blowing sand and reclamation. The flow of the river depends on the device.

How does dredgers work?

1. The front end of the dredgers generally has a five-pointed wheel, some of which are four-pointed wheels. After the wheel enters the water, the sand and gravel in the water will be loosened first, and the sand and gravel can be loosened before they can be salvaged by the dredger.

2. The dredging boat needs to use the rotation of the chain plate to drive the chain bucket, transport the loose sand and gravel, and lift it out of the water surface. The sand and gravel on the water surface are sent to the round-pass sand screening machine of the dredging boat through the chain bucket.

3. The sand screen of the drum rotates to separate the sand and gravel. The good sand and gravel that are screened will fall into the sand chamber with the funnel. Generally, the separated sand and gravel are the sand and gravel we use finished gravel.

4. The sand and gravel will be scattered on the conveyor belt through the hopper in the sand bin, and then follow the conveyor belt to the car on the shore.

Cutter Suction Dredger

After the dredgers are in place, the dredging and filling construction shall be carried out using the steel pile positioning cross excavation construction method. This is a kind of main positioning pile that falls on the midline of the groove as the middle of the hull's rotation. Through lateral action, the reamer swings back and forth from left to right within the width of the groove, so that the reamer cuts in layers. The construction method of the soil layer of the excavation section.

Adjust the speed and stop of the left and right traverse winches, retracting and unwinding traverse cables to change the moving speed of the reamer and change the different cutting positions of the reamer on the cross section. Then, the mud-water mixture is sucked by the mud pump and transported to the designated hydraulic filling area through the mud discharge pipeline. According to the requirements of the designed river and lake dredging area, the dredger uses dredging and other mechanical equipment to excavate, and the dredged spoil is hydraulically transported to the backwater side of the embankment body through the mud discharge pipeline, combined with pond filling and pressure dipping; It not only helps to expand the flood discharge section, but also helps to prevent damage to the foundation pipeline. Dredgers have been widely used in river and lake dredging projects.
